Why the name “Swanky Raven?”

When my fellow Camp Mill Runners & I were 11 years old, we decided it would be cool to go by nicknames consisting of a weird first name and a bird last name. Hence we became Swanky Raven (me), Siscon Ostrich (Michelle), Cringe Crow (Hillary) and Scenge Buzzard (Jennifer). The names stuck, all these decades later.

No, but I did.

Why the eighties and not some other decade?

The eighties were the BESTEST decade, ever! NO other time period during my lifetime (and I’m old), even remotely compares to that dreamy time.
